Centre opening hours

Mon -Thu: 8.)0am - 9.30pm. Friday: 8.)0am - 4.30pm.
(Sat/Sun - open by request, payment to Council).

The centre is a popular lifelong learning venue, the base for various Community Learning & Development staff, the Canongate Youth Project and various user groups.

The accommodation was formerly a Victorian school built near the site of the old Infirmary. You can enter the from the east or west door (formerly the Girls' or Boys' side). The centre has three floor levels. On the ground floor is reception and the ladies and gents toilets (with disabled access). On the top floor is CYP. There is ramp access at the back for wheelchair users (photo). Access to the upper floors is by staircase only (photo).

Parking and buses
There is a car barrier (photo) Car parking is not available to the public, but is available in Infirmary Street and adjoining streets. The centre is just off South Bridge a main bus route. The bus stops are near the bridge that spans over the Cowgate (map).

Rooms
On the ground floor is a large hall, a multipurpose room (Room 1), a small interview room ('The Quiet Room') and Computer Suite 1 (macs). On the first floor is Computer Suite 2 (PCs) and Conference Room 2. On the upper floor there is a multipurpose room (Room 3).
